Renovating your home or an investment property has become very popular during the Covid pandemic. In many cases, the investment makes sense, and the outlay of money and time is well spent. However, most homeowners are not construction or renovation experts and, we at Heigar, are seeing an increased demand for remodel “fixes”.

Unexpected, or unexplained, invoices. Continuous delays or just shoddy work are just some of the complaints we are being asked to help with. As always, our goal is to build long term relationships and we know our clients rely on us to be the experts. When we’re asked to take over an ongoing renovation, we work to keep the process as simple as possible and our client’s objectives top of mind.
Our process:
Evaluate – We assess the existing work; what was committed to and what was completed?
Feasibility – Was the work possible to complete in the timeframe and budget originally committed? (Did the original contractor over-promise?)
Capacity – Can we help our client? We wrote about the power of saying “no” here.
Propose – we move with speed to offer a solution to our client, even if that means introducing a different, but Heigar trusted, contractor.
Execute – we only take on work that we can complete on time, within budget and allows us to exceed our client’s expectations.
If you’ve found yourself in the unenviable position of having picked the wrong contractor, please reach out. You’re not alone and we can help. The relationship we plan to build with you is more important than one project and we look forward to earning your trust.
